Rome...

this is also in Rome, though not technically, because it is in the Vatican; recognize it? it's the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel! you're right! anyways, the Vatican was cool and of course it was amazing to get to see all of the sites i've always heard of...the Sistine Chapel was much different than i had always imagined it; i had always thought that it would be small, intimate, and dimly lit; instead it was (though the personal chapel for the pope) still bigger than most churches in the U.S. the ceiling is probably 100 feet high and of course contains the paintings done by Michaelangelo. the one in the center is the most famous i guess, it's one that i've seen before; it is said that Michaelangelo painted with both hands at the same time during some portions of the work and even went back and re-did portions done by his apprenetices because they did not meet his standards. if you ever visit the chapel please remember that pictures are not allowed ; ) Posted by Hello
