Rome...

from Venice we went to Rome, you may have heard of it; it was also quite enjoyable, but a pretty big city which means a lot of walking, and pretty far south which means HOT...the ancient Roman stuff was great, it was too hard to wrap my mind around how old the stuff was that we were seeing and to know that the "skyline" of that part of the city hadn't changed for 2,000 years....two thousand!!! rediculous; we hit all of the sites during the day and then went back at night so we could take even more pictures of them. (i mean we did pay good money to get there, so why not take pictures...this might be a good time to note that between the four of us we took over 1,000 pictures while we were gone..) probably the coolest thing to see was the prison that both Peter and Paul were held in. it was absolutely...wow...crazy to be in the very room where they were inprisioned and yet still preaching and writing (the Bible, heard of it?) almost 2,000 years ago..
