is this thing on??

i'll try to make this short since i should be studying for my final test, but lately i've been reading the gospel out of 'The Message' version of the Bible and found it to be very intreguing. My first encounter with the Message came at a confrence that me and Curt went to with Matt Chandler and Shane & Shane where in the middle of his talk Matt Chandler went off on the Message; I don't remember what was said but it wasn't good, and the funny part was the guy next to me had one and he kinda tried to hold it down and then i think put it under his chair...anywho, the point is, while it may not be 'the Bible', i think it has some merit in the perspective that it puts the message of Jesus. After reading it, the gospel has lost all of it's lofty, high-church appeal as though it was something that has to be spoken of only whilst acting proper and something that requires a highly traditional and boring beuracratic Church to go along with it. i think that is exactly what Jesus was preaching against; and thus the whole basis for hip post-modernism.. ('oh, i guess i get it now' - Josh...)I guess it also brings what is said into more of a reality for me because it is said the same way that someone would approach me on the street with "this great new offer of salvation!!"'...no thanks travelling salesman , not interested' would have probably have been my response...but instead he spoke to people conversationally, like they would have spoken to each other, with thoughts that were equally easy to understand..who knew? ok well, i don't really think this makes any sense, but if you have any thoughts on the gospel or Jesus' words being presented in modern phrase and thought, (not including needing to 'get saved' or other church invented phrases of modern faith) please feel free to share them. as for me, back to the muscles of the neck and head...
