just the right prescription...

allow me to write my first prescription, I have found the perfect remedy...
*Saturday was a rough day for my beautiful fiancee...first some mean, mean person tried to break into her car, so she had to pay alot of money to have the window replaced, and then she had to sweep up all the broken glass in the middle of the inferno-like afternoon temperatures. Then other stuff happened, then other stuff, then other stuff...everybody has bad days, this was one of them for her.

..that is until 10:00 that night...i was about to leave their apartment after some prolonged talking about the day, when i smelled gas. Not like 'whoa melanie, hehe...' ...more like 'hey who opened a propane tank out here'. After some investigation I deemed the source of the smell to be the unoccupied apartment beneath theirs. Applying common sense I said, ' well, if the smell is strong enough to smell it outside it must really be a leak or something' ... I take a moment to recount to you that only a couple of months before this eventful night a doctor that i worked for told me about how he once watched someone's house explode and them all run out on fire because they had a gas leak..obviously I wanted to avoid such a fate...I can't seem to find anyone around who could back me up on the presumed smell (of the male gender..no offense) so I call the police thinking 'there's probably a nice officer driving around this area and he can stop by and give me his opinion'

but, as soon as I say gas leak I get transferred to the Fire Department, and as soon as I tell them the situation they say "ok, there's an engine on the way"... which leads me to say "oh my gosh, no..i don't need a fire engine..i just wanted a second opinion...it's not a big deal" to which the over-zealous dispatcher says 'well you did call the fire department'...so, we went back and forth and I got more and more frustrated, and i keep trying to convince him that i really don't need a fire truck right up to the point that we hear the sirens...at this point Melanie and her roommate have disavowed me, and have walked off as far away as they could, saying that they will never live down the "night the fire truck made a visit" .. long story short, they came, they went...better safe than sorry... but melanie couldn't stop laughing as i stood there with a full squadron of firemen, she said I really made her bad day alot better...so next time you need a magic cure for a bad day, just remember your over-zealous friends at 911.
