she said yes!!!

i'm engaged!! this is where all the magic happened; the house is called the Astin Mansion, (it's in downtown Bryan) and the horse and carriage was our main form of transportation around downtown Bryan. A quick run-down of the events:
4:00am - I and my accomplice (seate jones) sneak into melanie's house, into her room, and distribute 8 dozen roses while she sleeps.
10:45am - put a rose with a note on melanie's car
11:30am - have a random guy deliver a rose and note to melanie in her biochem class
1:00pm - deliver a rose and note to the manicure place that melanie is headed to. (at her friends suggestion..)
3:00pm - attempt to deliver an afternoon snack to melanie in her organic chemistry class but she ends up catching us and chasing us around the chemistry building. snack not delivered.
6:00pm - melanie is picked up by a "London Taxi" to remind her of her time in London; inside is a poster with pics of us while we were in London together. her roommates ride to the house with her and then the taxi takes them back.
6:15 - the most beautiful woman i have ever seen walks up a long sidewalk towards me as i wait in the doorway, beginning the biggest night of our lives.
6:45pm - after 'catching up' and having a glass of wine, i ask her if she'd like to go for a ride and we head outside where the horse and carriage is waiting.
7:20pm - after riding around downtown for about 45 minutes we get 'home', walk around the house a bit, and then sit down at a small candle-lit table for two in front of a fire; there is light jazz music playing in the background and the room is filled with around 50 candles.
8:30pm - after dinner and dessert we move to two green wingback chairs against the wall with a small table with a candle in between.
8:47pm - i pop the question
8:48pm - she says yes, cries, laughs, cries, laughs, screams (scaring me), cries, laughs, etc.
**more later, i guess this would be a good point to acknowledge the best friends a guy could have: Seth, Matt G., Ryan, and Micah, who were willing to help set-up & video the whole night so that we have pictures and video of the whole thing. i'll post some when i get them.**
