Much to my surprise our wonderful friend Curtis 'curt curt' Hampton left a birthday surprise for me with my roommate to be given on the appropriate day. (sept 8..and yes i do accept belated cash gifts) So when the time came Justin busted out the boxes and i tore them open with boy-ish glee to find this..."what the heck is it?" .. "I don't know" .. "What do you do with it?".. "I don't know" .. that's how the first few conversations seemed to go.. so i did what any self-respecting man does after he has exhausted every last possible attempt at figuring it out, I got the directions. The only problem was that curt curt had brought the present from the 'orient' so the instructions were in Chinese. (i.e. no help at all) He was kind enough to leave a note on a post-it in one of the boxes, it was stuck to a piece of round cloth and said "this needs to stay wet at all times after you use it." ... Thanks...i think that scares me more than anything... To make a long story short i eventually find out that the device is a Chinese coffee maker, which then led to speculations (and even the writing up of physics/chemistry equations from every med-school-dork friend that has come to my apartment in the last thee weeks), as to how in the world you are supposed to make coffee from this thing. The debate continues though i think we have established a few fundamentals. I just thought i should post this so that a few brilliant minds (my wonderful 4...ok, 2.. readers) could work on it as well. But we shant forget the moral of the story...how cool is c.c. hampton for bringing me a b-day present from China... wo ai ni hei ren!!
