adventures in Orange

Sorry for the delay in posting this..it is important for you to know that except for the turn out of the game everything went great on our Labor Day adventure to Clemson, SC. We ended up getting in to Atlanta about midnight and meeting up with Melanie's sister to begin the ~ 3 hour drive back to Clemson. After arriving at 3am and then discovering that the guy I was supposed to stay with had already gone to bed I "hit the hay", as they say, around 4am on an extra bed in a room full of spare dorm furniture. Saturday was great, it wasn't too hot, and we pretty much spent the day walking around the campus and the town; it's an old campus with lots of tradition and pride, but not quite as much as good ol' A&M. One of the unexpected wonders of the trip was being able to see some old College Station amigos. Lance Haney (a.k.a. "templeton") and Oren Martin (along with Shane Mikeska, Sean Gould and Jason Calcote, the seminary posse) were in town for the game and so limited but quality hang out time was had. The game was fun, and a bit scary at times, as the Clemson faithful had been drinking since early morning and we were the only maroon in a sea of orange called "The Hill" (the appropriately grassy knoll that makes up one of the end zones.) The band, led by cymbal captain Lauri, did rock the house, and Death Valley, which holds about 1,000 less than Kyle, did get roudy...the pic is of us after we entered the game as "Clemson students" with our clemson I.D.s and such. It was taken just before the revelation of our true colors, which can been seen if you look closely at the sleeves. ok, welp, that's about it, back to recombinant DNA cloning...
