sardines!!!

i saw probably the funniest event of my trip the other morning while i was waiting for the bus. another bus had come in to pick people up and it was already really full, no one got off but a group of people attempted to get on. the last to try was a guy that we will call 'the dude'. so the dude puts his feet on the step-up into the bus and then reaches in and grabs the hand rails, so at this point the only things inside the bus are his hands and about half of his feet. the bus is packed, it just seems like one huge mass of people, and there is no where for the dude to fit in. soooo, he begins flex his arms thus bringing his body forward into the bus and proceeds to pound himself into the person just inside the bus over and over again. this fast paced thrusting of his body continues until he feels that there is enough room for the doors to close. they try to close them and, you guess it, they close right on the dude. the driver opens them again immediately before the dude is crushed too severely. then he begins to repeat the thrusting/pounding of the people in front of him, at which point (as i am engrossed by the situation) i laugh really, really loud...after which i look around at the people around me to realize that they think the most noteworthy thing going on at the moment is the 'foreigner's outburst'...i was like, do you see this people??? anyways, the thrusting payed off as the second attempt to shut the doors was a success. wow, the dude really wanted to get on that bus...i'm sure that another one came like 5 minutes later...good stuff, good stuff.
